SCHOOL NURSE - HELEN BECKETT

Your School Nurse for Waterloo School is Helen Beckett.  She is based along with a team of nurses at Lytham Road Health Centre and can be contacted on (01253) 401261.  The school nurses work not only in schools but also in the wider community, working in partnership with education, social services and voluntary agencies.  We aim to promote the health and well-being of all school age children and their families.  Every child has access to a named nurse and you can talk to them about:
healthy eating and exercise, growth and development, behaviour and relationships, medical conditions such as epilepsy, asthma, allergies, etc; immunisations, bedwetting.  We can also refer your child to other agencies if necessary e.g.  audiology, speech therapy, dental, chiropody.

Headlice checks are no longer routinely done in school.  We advise parents to check their child's hair once a week and only treat if live lice are seen.  It is advisable to buy a fine tooth comb and to keep long hair tied back.  Advice can be given by the school nurses on the above number.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions or concerns relating to your child's health.
